"No, there was some luck", Thomas said with a short laugh, "She just didn't like it. Turns out she's be using birth control." He set the bottle of pills on the granite counter top after shaking the container.

Sawyer's eyebrows shot up. "Well done. Didn't think you had it in you to investigate." The girl might end up pregnant after all.

Thomas scoffed. Part of him wished he didn't investigate. His jaw was killing him thanks to it, and Vivian's momentary kindness to him had been obliterated and would most likely never be restored. A shame really, as the girl was quite fascinating to the man who'd seen anything and everything on whims.

"You don't seem too happy that you caught her. If you keep the pills from her she'll probably be pregnant within a few weeks." But she was wild. There was no telling what she might do to prevet the pregnancy or somehow abort it.

Thomas nodded. "You wouldn't sound too happy either if your jaw was probably broken." Well that and the fact you practically raped your 'wife'.

Sawyer shrugged. "I suppose that's a problem. But it'll heal. You'll be fine. Might get an heir, too." It was scary, a bit amusing, and in an odd way, impressive that a sixteen year old girl had managed to break his twenty-one year old brother's jaw.

"I hope", Thom sighed, nursing his broken jaw with the ice pack. "Don't you have a wife you should be attending to?" He was ready to be alone again, now looking for a way to get rid of his brother.

"Asleep," The man said easily. All Maria did lately was coo at the baby and sleep, which was fine with him. He didn't fancy spending excessive amounts of time alone with her, anyhow.

"And you're confident she won't tank on us again if she has another kid?" Thom was curious. If the girl had another child, then they wouldn't really need one from him, now would they?

"Hell no. She very well might. I should've picked one built like yours. I think she's too small. She might tank. But I've got an heir, so I guess we'll just see if we can save her and the baby or pick one." It was a tough decision, when morality came into play.

The idea that Sawyer was so easy to dismiss the possibility that Maria could die from childbirth made Thom slightly uncomfortable. He didn't really like Vivian all that much, but he didn't want the girl to die - especially after carrying his child for nine months.

A small sigh of relief left Thom's lips, a hand brushing through his chocolate brown hair. He heard a buzz from somewhere in the kitchen, a small light blinking red under a small label that was for Maria's room. "Looks like your wife's getting impatient."

The man let out a sigh, and patting his brother on the back, hurried off to tend to his impatient wife, and in doing so, nearly ran into Thomas's. The brunette stormed past them both as if they didn't exist, hellbent on something else.
