Leila sighed and simply looked at her captor. She wasn't handing over the piece of fabric: nothing more than the hem of her shirt was it consisted of. He should be counting his lucky stars that she didn't decide to hang herself from the back of the door like she'd though of over and over whilst she changed.

Declan sighed. It was going to be an eternity with this girl. It already felt ridiculous with Hudson there with him; why couldn't the second-in-command take control of this all by himself?

He held out a hand, cocking an eyebrow. "C'mon, lassie. Hand it over." His accent was strong, and his eyes weren't quite as cold anymore. But not all that warm, either.

Vivian pulled off her boots and slid her legs up onto the bed, propping herself up on her chin. She was defenseless anyway, so she might as well have been defenseless and comfortable.

"No." Her voice was hard set, she wasn't giving the piece of fabric over. No. It'd be over her dead body that he'd get it from her.

"You're a stubborn one, ain't you?" He dropped his hand. "Fine, girl. Keep your strip of fabric. That's all you'll have, anyway." Her belongings were locked away in his office.

Vivian lingered near the window, a bit more comfortable now that the staring had died down. She didn't feel quite as many eyes on her back wherever she went, and that was a start. "Why are you intent on following me everywhere, Declan?"

Leila sighed, relieved. She made her way back to the room he has given her, closing the door behind her as she sat on the bed, thumbing the blue strip.

"Because it's my job", the vice grumbled from his seat on a bench that was ten or so feet away from the window Vivian stood at.

Juliette carried a basket of her clothes with her down the hall, blue armband denoting her prisoner status secure on her red-clad arm. She had noticed the other one around a few other times, never able to really able to or having enough courage to stop and chat.

Callan left her after waiting a few moments. The strip wasn't enough to do any damage. He figured he could give her that much for her half-ass cooperation. "Dinner's soon." If she cared to eat.

"Surely you, the vice, have much better things to do than to watch every move I make." A flash of red passing by caught her attention, and she watched her pass. "What's she doing here?" No one had told her there was another one. Then again, they didn't tell her much.

Leila nodded as she looked down at the strip, though she knew he couldn't see her. She wanted to go home. She didn't want to fight - for either side, East of West. She just wanted to go home.

"She's someone elses. I forgot whose." Declan answered absentmindedly as he looked down at his finger which he'd - of course - broken.

Juliette's cheeks flashed with heat and a deep shade of pink as she was referred to. She walked a little faster, not wanting to stop; her social skills weren't the greatest especially with her own peers.

Callan wandered down to the kitchen and dug up some microwavable pasta, popped it in the microwave oven, and waited. He didn't have time to actually cook most nights. The microwave was his best friend.

"You! Come back." She called out in her authoritative voice, the one she rarely got to use anymore. Declan and Hudson hated it. She didn't hold any power there. But she didn't want to lose it completely. Declan had forgotten who she "belonged" to, just as she "belonged," technically, to him. She chose not to acknowledge it most of the time. Something told her the other Eastern girl didn't feel the same.

Leila stayed put, coming downstairs once Callan was close to halfway through his dinner. She didn't really have an appetite, but she didn't know how long it'd be before she ate again.

Juliet sighed, turning around and walking back to the girl. Her height really showed in comparison to her's, the girl nearly six inches smaller than the other. "Yes?", she asked quietly.

"Help yourself. The microwave did an excellent job. I don't exactly cook most nights." She didn't have any room to complain, but he felt the need to explain anyway. His job didn't allow for much free time if he wanted to do it right.

"What's your name? And who are you here because of?" Asking who she belonged to was not something Vivian planned on doing. She and the smaller girl belonged to no one. She hadn't been with their squadron, but she was still Eastern.

Leila nodded, taking a small bowl of the pasta and sitting at the opposite end of the kitchen table. She took a bite of the food. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the greatest either. "Thanks." She was quiet, looking down as she ate.

The poor thing had such terrible social anxiety, and this was excruciating for her. "My name's Juliet. Darren. He brought me here instead of sending me to a camp." And for that she was eternally grateful.

He actually received a thank you for his mediocre pasta dinner. How nice. "Mhm," He wasn't sure what else there was to say, so he kept eating.

Darren? She picked her brain for a Darren, and once she was about to give up, remembered his last name: Hood. "Hood. Huh, didn't know he was like that. Which room?"

The two ate in silence which Leila was grateful for. She didn't want to talk if she didn't have to; she needed time to digest her fate and her current predicament.

"Down the hall and to the left. First door on the right." Juliet motioned to the room where she was more or less kept, though she was allowed to move somewhat freely throughout the house since everyone knew she wouldn't have the guts to leave anyway.

Once he'd finished, he got up and dumped his plate in the sink and turned back to face her. "You won't be going anywhere. Understand?" Knowing her, she'd try to run anyway.

Vivian followed her gesture and nodded. The other end of the house. No wonder she hadn't really noticed the other girl much before. "You seem kinda young to be here." She had to wonder how Hood was treating her to make her sonuncomfortable in her own skin.

"No shit." Leila huffed, leaning back in her seat with her crossed arms. Did he think she was stupid? Of course she wasn't supposed to go anywhere! That'd completely defeat the idea of a prison(er)!

"I'm fourteen." Juliet spoke quietly as she looked at the floor. Yeah, she was a bit young to be taken away from her family and fight a war against her will, now serving as a prisoner knowing she'd never see home again.

"And no more comments like that. That might've ben dandy in the West, but here, I'm not putting up with it." He took her plate from her before she finished and rinsed it out, leaving the plate in the sink.

Vivian nodded slowly, eyes narrowed. She glanced over her shoulder at Declan, and then turned back to the younger girl. "How's he treating you?" She didn't know Hood well enough to be able to predict how on her own.

Leila rolled her eyes, making her way back up to her room, her prison cell now. She sat down on her bed, pulling off one of the last blue things she had: her boots. She wasn't going to walk around in red boots that were 12,000 sizes too big for a week so she just kept her own for the time being.

So that's what she's getting at. "Fine. Probably . . . probably better than most here would like." And Juliet was thankful, really. Many in the house gave her dirty looks whenever she was in the room, some teased her for her size (not a big shocker), others just ignored her existence all together.

The man drew out a long sigh, and locking the door, inside and out, he trudged to his room downstairs and changed into pajama pants. He wasn't sure if he should already be regretting keeping the girl.

So, by the sound of it, Hood wasn't one of the ruthless ones. And if he was, he pitied her for her size. Either way, things had turned out for her much better than they had for Pyre. "I'm... uh, Piper. Piper Ingram. But call me Vivian Pyre, because the asswipe over there wants everyone to."

Leila laid on her bed trying to wrap her head around her new 'prisoner' status. God today sucked.

For the first time in awhile, Juliet grinned. "Oh really? Doesn't surprise me. At least they acknowledge your name." She laughed, but in reality, it was horribly sad when you were just known as 'runt' or 'the little one'.

"They don't call you by your name? What, then?" Probably something degrading and petty, if she had to guess. The only reason they seemed to bother with her name was because she'd been the second of their rival group. That was the only thin earning her the questionable respect of a name.

Juliet sighed. She hated the names, but she couldn't escape them. It wasn't exactly like she could tell them to stop either. "Runt. Sometime's Shrimpy, too." She shrugged her shoulders, her voice growing quieter as she spoke.

Declan was calling her back, away from the girl they called "runt," and she reluctantly retreated with a small wave, traipsing over to him with an eyebrow raised. "What do you want?" If she knew her rival, he hadn't had an actual reason.

Darren peered out into the living room, relaxing a little when he saw the girl but tensing slightly when he realized who she was talking to: Piper Ingram. "Get in here, Runt." He called her tiredly and almost affectionately. Runt wasn't so much a name he used to mock her as to describe her. She was small. The others took it further.

"I don't have to have a reason, y'know." Declan gave her a small glare, standing from his bench.

Juliet sighed. She made her way down the hall, laundry basket still in hand. "I'll be right back", she said, referencing to the basket before walking past the living room towards a hallway that a few of the squad's bedrooms.

"No, but it'd be nice if you didn't call me at your leisure like I'm some lap dog of yours." The girl murmured, shooting him a look and taking his place on the bench.

Darren nodded, watching her for a moment before returning his gaze to his book. Piper had retreated to her corner with Declan, and the situation was again at ease.

Declan just rolled his eyes as he watched the girl take his place. "Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it." When is Hudson getting here . . .

Juliet hadn't noticed her follower when she entered the first room, dropping off a few shirts and a pair of pants. A moment later she heard the door close behind her, a hand clasping over her mouth quickly and a voice in her ear. "Scream and I'll kill you." She felt his hands starting to move roughly against her. She knew what he wanted. Tears spilled over, she couldn't see. She didn't want to see.
